Kooky person-Gopalan Nair

Read The Straits Times today and saw the report on this guy named Gopalan Nair who was released on bail yesterday after being arrested for insulting or rather allegedly insulting the High Court judge. This is like the icing on the top of the cake. He even attacked Singapore's laws and institutions in a blog titled Singapore Dissident. The caustic remarks or incendiary claims he had made on Singapore. I find it convulsively hilarious and preposterous. However, i would like to first say that i'm not an over-zealous fanatic patriotic person. Just someone who can't stop commenting. Ya ya. I have a gargantuan mouth that can swallow the entire Mars.

(all words in italics are lifted from the Straits Times)

A month later, he called on SIngaporeans to break laws he felt were unjust, like needing a permit to protect, as they would otherwise 'die like slaves'.

Ya ya... I would rather 'die like a slave' than die in a cockroach-infested jailhouse.

When Myanmar citizens here protested against their government's crackdown on protesters last year, he urged Singaporeans to take a leaf from them.

To all my friends, maroon is like the so IN colour based from fashionistas from other part of the world. We should take a leaf by donning maroon-ee monks' outfits, shave our heads and parade down Orchard Road. Did i imagine this or did our government is actually turning green-as green as those uniforms our NS men wear.

Go read the 'In his own words', that's even funnier.

"To me Kastari is a hero. As far as i know he has not harmed anyone and could indeed be the nicest man in the world."

I'm not sure about the Mas Selamat Kastari being 'the nicest man in the world'. However, i'm with Nair in hailing Kastari as my hero. Not anyone can have his/her visage plastered at every crooks and crannies of Singapore. You know what, i think after seeing the his visage everywhere and everyday, i'm starting to gain an 'affection' for him. His beard is like oh-so sexy. My hero! *says it at screechy high pitched voice*

"singapore is uniquely suited for protests. A highly built-up place with great people density. Also it is an international city depending on tourism and international commerce. It cannot be seen as a place where thousands of peaceful protesters are shot. Singapore is not Tiananmen. "

This, i nod my head in agreement. You can take the MRT at raffles place at 8 plus. There'll be HIGH people density and you can start protesting all the way from pasir ris to boon lay. If you're feeling hot and suffocated, try gesticulate while talking. Be mindful to exaggerate your actions and you'll find the crowd dispersing. Just try not to think that they are AVOIDING you. Carry on anyway.

"blah blah... It is criminal bringing up children in singapore under this repressive dictatorial government"

"I have heard from reliable sources, that conditions in Queenstown Prison are really not bad at all. You get three meals a day, and if Indian like me, you get curry everyday"

The getting in and staying in the prison part may be easy. What about the leaving part and adapting back to the normal world? Try telling your employers that you were once jailed but now would like to work in the company. Go prison for curry?! 0.0 I thought i'm weird. There are people out there who are weirder.

"It may even be better than California for me, since i have to go out of my way to get curry here. I am getting fed up with hamburgers."

Oh ya... and you get to have curry in prison while freedom and privacy are unceremoniously snatched from you and you don't mind. What warped sense of logic is this?! Want curry, befriend a Bangla construction worker la. Go to his hostel and get it for free or at a minimal cost. But then jail is better because if you;re lucky, you'll get to befriend a forlorn lonely cockroach in your cell. Who knows. That cockroach you had befriended maybe you BFF.

And... he actually helped me confirm that...

"Within Queenstown you get to exercise and make very good friends inside"

Exercise somemore. No need to pay a hefty amount joining California fitness centre liao... Go queenstown straight.

This guy obviously hates the ubiquitious Lee family. Ok. I agree that the government's policies may not be square and fair all the time. The education system is an example of one of the policies that gets on my nerves since i'm directly implicated as i'm still a student. LKY may seemed overbearing but i still give him my utmost admiration and respect. Without him and his visions, i wouldn't be here, safe from bomb attacks and having access to internet and able to exercise my fingers away on my laptop. Singapore would most probably be a 3rd world country and everyone would most probably be begging for food now.

Hence, i find his comments too much and juvenile. I also take umbrage at some of his comments. It's like he's dropping us a subtle messsage that we're fools not to stand up to the government. Somehow, it's not that we do not dare stand up. But is there a need? To be honest, i think the government has to do what it has done for the sake of our survival. SIngapore is obviously a SMALL country. It takes a lot of attain what we are/have now. I wouldn't want to risk viewing myself as a callous and heartless person who had forgotten my roots. Blindsided by the efforts dumped in to reach the state we're now. Ignore the seemingly-unjust-but-no-choice policies morph singapore for the better.

Oh ya... I;ve read his blog. It's funny to me still.

suicide can't end all...

My mum had a friend who committed suicide by slashing his wrist. It's horrifying how he had ended his life. Personally, i don't think i have the courage to hold onto a sharp razor blade, create a horizontal line across my wrist, witnessing my blood gushes out and finally waiting for the final moment as my life slowly ebbs away. It's disconcerting and morbid. However, that guy had depression which had perhaps dulled his thinking, resulting in him taking the extreme method to end his life. It's even saddening to know that his colleagues and friends had no inkling that underneath the brave and jovial exterior, was a punctured soul, desperately in need for support. Nobody was there to help him through the darkest stage in life. Kind of reminds me the fact that we come to this earth alone and leave alone. Friends and family members can be bawling at your side while you take your last breath. But, they aren't dying and proceeding to another realm of life or whatsoever. So technically, the dying person is dying alone. Therefore i think it's important to take a notice of the people around you. Talk to them, show your love and care, show that at least something matters to them. Perhaps, lesser depressed people will choose the extreme way out.

Ok. Let's move away from such macabre topic. The spot light is on me. A lot of people had expressed shock and terror that i'm going to NTU instead of NUS. Maybe not a lot. It's a handful lot but because of their exaggerated and loud reactions that made me feel that i'd been confronted by a colony of people. Oh ya.. it's the prestige thing again. SInce they're my relatives, i had to hold my tongue and swallow all the sarcastic comments that i had, bubbling in my brain. They also prodded me for the reasons why i did not choose NUS blah blah blah... At one point of time, i was closed to losing my temper and i said something like "i think NUS sucks." I didn't want to go through the notion of explaining my reasons so many bloody times. Anyway, it was a good one as people were dumbfounded by my comment that they stopped talking and left things as they were. :) How i wish i can retort them using some stupid idiotic reasonings like "i'm going to NTU because the food there is nicer.", "i'm going to NTU because i like this particular trees there.", "i'm going to NTU because it's further away from my school and home and i won't get to see people i know easily. " Leave them comment-less.

Anyway, i'm comfortable with my decision and i'm not swayed or affected by their comments. However, that doesn't mean i'm not irritated, Simply because i don't like to repeat my reasons so many times like a play-back recorder and some even went the extra mile to say that i'm stupid for not choosing NUS.

In reality, i'm not stupid. I just have a bubble for a brain. In order to be stupid, you need to have brain which can't function efficiently, and that's what make you stupid. For me situation, i don;t have a brain, only air, so i'm NOT stupid. Whatever... I don't even understand what i'm trying to say. Bye.

Action Packed Day!!

Today's like an fast moving action packed day. Met qijiemeis at 10 am, downtown east to cycle and skate. Haven't been skating for ages. I actually found it scary to skate. Landed flat on my bum. Now my bum's hurting. Guess a big ugly bruise is going to spring up real soon. I also borrowed bike from the rest to cycle. The weather was terrific. Cloudy and perhaps drizzled abit but then we didn't have to risk being baked alive the scorching sun.

We went to E hub for bowling. While we were waiting for our turn to be called so that we can get our lane and stuff. Cherylene and Mingyan went out to see something and a random angmoh passed her free tix for the indoor ferris wheel ride. After bowling, we went to catch the ferris wheel. After that, we went to Gelare to satisfy our sweetie toothy craving-ICE CREAM!! Yummy!!

Went to my home for dinner. Had pizzas and other side orders. Don't know whether i was a good hostess. The birthday cake and song was totally unexpected. Huichan and Mingyan went to bring Sarah to my house as she was busy with something else for the whole morning and afternoon and couldn't join us. They convinced me that they knew the way and i didn;t have to tag along. Next, Sarah just popped into my house together with Mingyan holding the cake with a lighted candle and they started burstign into a bday song at the car porch. It was unexpected and sweet of them. I'm touched. Thanks people! Now i have a complete birthday.

My mum bought a cake last fri but it was too early to celebrate. She brought out the cake and the rest was like looking at it cluelessly. Didn;t know whether it's my birthday cake or not. In the end, we just cut the cake and ate without singing. Thurs, we were hungry around tea time and there was an ice cream cake which my uncle had brought home. We just cut the cake, again, no candles and song.

I know birthday song, candles and cake may be a frivolous things to some. However, to me i think those are what make birthday a true birthday.

now i feel like it's my happy birthday!

Burden off my chest

I'm 19!!!

OMG! i sound so old. This will be my last year being a teenager. Must savour and relish every moment. I'm not that enthusiastic with regards to being an adult. I think being an adult is no fun and has a lot of troubles to worry. CPF, Credit card bills, insurances, employment, tax,new house, new car, get married etc.

Anyway, i'd just accepted NTU's biological science course. It's sayonara to NUS. Guess that i'm not fated to be in NUS. However, i like to express my deepest and sincere thanks to NUS for accepting me even though they took ages to send the snail mail to me which at intially kept me clambering onto the edge of my seat as i was worried NUS had despised me and refused to admit me as their student. Anyway, i'm truely glad that NUS did send me an acceptance form in the end. Also, i'm delirious with joy that the agonising period of deciding which school to school is over. It's like a humongous and irritating burden has been lifted off my chest. Whee!! Mingyan is going to suffer being my future hostel-mate. yay!

Thanks to everyone who has sent their wishes. I really had a HAPPY birthday. I like the present from qijiemeis. Thank you very much people!! Love all my friends and family!! Wish you guys all the best too!!

gain enlightenment

Here comes the jaw-dropping announcement, I've decided to go to NTU instead. After spending like so many days pretty sure that i were to go to NUS and convincing myself that i'll survive in NUS, this is like a sudden twist of fate. Funny right? I think my wanting to go to NUS was a delusion. It was against norm and sounded funny from the start.

Anyway, i have to thank Mel for the insightful chat we had last night. I got my 'enlightenment' from there. She threw me a simple question "why i want to go to nus." I mentioned about the me being a damn slack person and need stress to move my bum along my studies. She raised her friend saying that i'm her friend's opposite. Which is weird. I'm not sure whether from this point on, you, readers, will still understand what i'm saying. Normally, people, if possible, will tend to take the easy way out. Who likes being placed in a competitive and stressful place and enjoys seeing own's blood pressure shoots up into the sky? Since my reasons for choosing NUS was against the norm, that meant that i didn't want to go to NUS but was trying to self deceit/blindfold/brow-beat/convince myself into entering NUS. It's against the norm which means i actually do not want to go to NUS but trying to self-hypnotise myself into accepting NUS.

And i;ve noticed that for the past few days, i woke up telling myself that i'm gg to NUS, i actually felt a strong sense of reluctance and dread. This morning, i woke up, thinking that i'll be going to NTU, i felt happiness bubbling inside. And i actually don't mind going compared to the sense of dread shackled to my ankles i had felt when i was 'convinced' i was going to NUS. So, my heart has finally revealed its true feelings. I'm going to NTU like a happy nut and immerse myself in the vibrant environment. yay!! *skips around*

Went to JB yesterday. Dad drove us around. We went to City square and JUsco. It was good chatting with my cousin on the way. For once, i thought we'd drifted apart but no. I'm glad she had confided in me. At least it saves me on my worries. My dad met with a couplem of friends and all of us took the beaten tracks to a ulu kelong for dinner. Fortunately, the food was nice of not my enduring of the bumpy rides was for naught. The roads was bumpy and there were a lot of sharp turns and stuff. Outside the car, you see nothing but tall grass and humongous trees. Once in a while, maybe we saw a house standing in the midst of a forested area in solitude. The place was dark and deserted and we were wondering which sane person would want to live and get surrounded by nothing but nature. What if a slithery gargantuan anaconda comes into the house in the middle of the night. What about wolves with those eeriely glowing eyes in the dark and their howls capable to raise people's hairs. yuck... The road was like winding here and there and i really admire the person who managed to seek such a place for food. Totally amazing. So once again, it proves that singaporeans love food. Also, the food was delicious and dirt cheap. Pretty cool although there were an enormous army of mosquitoes there. It was like going to night safari minus the animals. Dark, mysterious, eerie, quiet, no street lamps ok. Must switch on hazel light. But cool.

All HArry Potter's fault

I had nightmares last and last last night. I reckon it's Harry Potter's fault. Been reading Harry Potter's series. Note how the plot gets darker as the series proceeds. In Harry Potter's and the half blood prince, many characters got slain. Pretty saddening. Especially the old and fuzzy and gay Dumbledore with twinkling blue eyes. Oh ya... about the nightmares part... Must be all the atrocities the diabolically evil Death Eaters and disgutingly cunning Voldemort's had done. I was telling Huichan last night that i was afraid Voldemort would come and grope me in the night. His slanting shifty beady eyes staring at me, nostrils flaring and disgusting goo flies out, forked tongue twisting unnaturally, cold clammy hands grip me tightly... Totally nightmarish.

Anyway, after sitting on the prickly fences for so long, i've finally decided to go to NUS-FOS. It wasn't an easy decision to make. I can't seem to explain my reasons why i've decided to go there lucidly. Even though i like the environment in NTU,i like to challenge myself by going to NUS. From now on, i shall not let my choice/decison whatsoever waver. I know NUS is competitive and such, but people like me need such pushing to get going. I'm too nua.

Hai...why can't life be a tad more straightforward. It's just a wishful thinking i guess. Like what many always say, you can't always get what you want. Life is plagued with moments of all the difficult choices to make. Perhaps, that's what makes life interesting?

The marvellous richness of human experience would lose something of rewarding joy if there were no limitations to overcome. The hilltop hour would not be half so wonderful if there were no dark valleys to transverse.

Stuck in a limbo

Even after i'd went to NUS open house yesterday, i still can't make a decision. This decision i'm going to make is highly important since it more of less going to affect my future. I have make a choice between NTU and NUS. OH gosh.... it's like a horrible itch in my ass and i want to make it go away but it refuses to budge and gain autonomy from me.

Talking about the academic aspects, NUS is of course more established, therefore has a better reputation. The biological science is considered a rather newly introduced course and therefore, comes with some risks if i were to take it although i don't know what risks there may be but i'm certain it won't be life-threatening. NUS is also more competitive and therefore, i expect there'll be some throat-cut-throat competition for the top positions. Moreover, NUS generally focuses more on the theory aspects while NTU is more practical meaning more lab works.

As for the non-academic parts, NTU has a newer, cooler, classier building. The lecturers in NTU are ahem! younger. NTU has a nicer environment, more greenery, closer to nature kind of thing. Plus NTU is more vibrant and the people are helpful and friendly. NTU is getting more ubiquitous now due to aggressive advertising. NUS is like what my aunt had used to describe, "dead" which is quite true i think. I think it's because NUS is more competitive and causes the students to be scampering to be the best and such, causing them to be blinded to the emotional and humane development.

And now comes the reasoning and counter argument part... The "things" that make the situation even murkier. It also shows that two years of learning GP hadn't gone in vain. The analytical and logical reasoning plus elaboration stuff are deeply ingrained. NTU's biological science maybe a newborn shrimp in a big sea but i think it should be quite safe to take simply because it's singapore. The word is apt enough to explain everything. Our precious Ministers won't see the course in a local uni go bust. Singapore's education system is very safe and sound. So, it may worth a try going for NTU. Since our education is based on merits, maybe i'll stand a better chance in NTU?

As for the part whereby NUS is dead. I mean who cares since i can morph myself effortlessly into a dead fish anyway. In JC, when things went crazy and caffeine couldn't kick in my system anymore, i was basically dragging my bum on the floor of TJ's looking like a corpse. NUS is dead so be it. Plus, i'm a laid-back person. Without anything to push me, i'll stay motionless on one spot. Greater competition=greater stress. Stress pushes me. And blah blah.

SO, i'm now stuck in a limbo. I have no idea what to choose. i gave myself a deadline to decide by wed. When i can't, i'm going to do the stupid yet definitive way which is to draw lots. Yes. I'm going to do that.

Went to PS yesterday as our aunt wanted to give us a treat. We took the MRT there and i met a pervert. He's either malay or indian since he was dark-skinned and looked weird . I mean it in the psychotic sense. One look at him you'll know he doesn't harbour any good intentions. He board the train at Bedok and he stood eeriely close to a girl. Trying to eat tofu or something. Then he moved further into the train. He stared at me oddly and i stared back. Felt my hair standing and decided to look away. Then, he suddenly moved towards me and stood behind me. My back was facing him. I suspect it was because my side had more women. The ride became jerky and he lost his balance and crashed into me. I immediately stuck my elbow out pushing him away from me. He apologised but i glared at him before changing my position, my side profile facing him so that in case he tried something funny, i can catch it and react fast enough like give him a kick in his shin. Whenever, he tried to look at me, i glowered at him. Sent him bad vibes that would hopefully give me nightmares. He changed target again and went to stand closer to another woman in pink tank-top and pretended the jerky-losing-balance kind of movements so that he could bump into someone. There was a bloody empty hand-bars and shiny metal poles beckoning to him. It's weird why he wasn't holding them since he was so unstable. I came with the conclusion that he was a pervert. Thankfully, he didn't try anything funny cause people were noticing and i was staring.

After we had alighted, my aunt commented i looked extremely fierce. I was naturally pissed. Damn all these perverts. should have given him a hard shove.

Had Japanese food for dinner. My aunt insisted on ordering the seafood ramen even though it was meant to be shared. So, i ate the seafood ramen and now i have rashes. Once again, confirm my self-diagnosis that i'm allergic to seafood.

You know what's for dinner tonight? Chilli crabs, steamed prawns, shell fish... isn't life cruel to me?

ECP!!

Met up with the rest of GC's girls yesterday. Went to ECP to cycle/ blade. I met Huichan earlier. And guess what, huichan fell asleep on the bus while i was engrossed with my Teenage magazine and we ended up missing our stop. We had to walk back under the scorching hot sun. I told huichan not to tell the others because i thought it was pretty stupid. haha!! Here we are at ECP. I rode the couple's bike with Audrey.
Can anyone imagine how traumatising that was.
Y.teen's learning how to blade

SEE how glum i looked. I was worried for my safety.
Life was in Audrey's hands....

Audrey acting cool...

Janice and me. Janice looks cool.

Whee!! Lovely butts!

Look at my 70s's inspired curry puff hair-do.

Lovely shot of the beach!

I like this pic!! :)

Happity Dippity Girls!

Was i doing the ms universe's kinda wave?

Outside Borders. Cherylene joined us for dinner at Parkway.
She was overdressed in comparison to us... haha!
People upstairs were staring at us when we were taking this pic..
On our way to Parkway, Huixian dropped her precious hp on the road. Thankfully, i was behind her and i noticed the phone. We suspected it was Huixian's and Janice even called her number to confirm. Yes!! It was huixian's phone. Huixian was happily unaware her phone was missing. Oh ya! She was clutching onto a set of newspapers. It was until we reached the bus-stop then she realised that her hp was missing. She searched everywhere while Janice and i looked at other directions to hide our grins.I believe Huixian was going near hysterical at that point and wanted to leave all stones unturned, she dug into the dustbin and rummaged for the newspapers she had thrown inside minutes ago. I stared dumbfoundedly and according to Janice, i was like flapping my hands around. I don't remember doing that but then... maybe i did it sunconciously? I was trying to give Janice the how?-do-we-let-HX-rummage-into-the-dustbin look. In the end, we let her scooped into the dustbin to pick up the newspapers. (so sorry Huixian...)
We took a bus to Parkway since it was raining. before we alighted, i was the last to leave and i noticed that Audrey had left her cap which was given to her by Elise on the seat. (I'm like the picker of the day) At the exit, she started burrowing into the bag, looking nervy as she thought her cap was missing. KABOOM! I magically made the cap appear.
To sum it up, i had tremendous fun. Looking forward to meeting those bunch of lovely girls again!! Yippee!!

allergic to seafood

I've done a self-diagnosis. I'm allergic to certain seafood and i'm moping about it. So far, i'm allergic to crustaceans:crabs, lobsters, shrimps and mollusks:mussels, oysters & clams. I'll have rashes the next day after eating such stuff which i suppose is somewhat like hives. Thankfully, it's not that serious cause i've researched that some people with severe allergies to seafood can actually have anaphylatic shocks, breathing problems and decreased blood pressure. Luckily i don't have a severe allergic reaction towards seafood. Phew... Just crazily itchy red spots. So, i'll have to say sayonara to black pepper crabs, butter prawns, lobsters, cheesey mussels, fried omelete with oysters, fried kway teow with the ham. No one can understand how devastated i am. Anyone who tries to tempt me with delicious mouth-watering seafood, i'll stick my fingers into their nose and wring out their nosehair. I'm devastated...

pathetic kids

I think kids these days are pitiful. It's just an observation i've made and of course after reading an article from Straits Time's forum. Take my cousins for example. They are starting to learn things like cell structure which i believe i had only learnt when i was in secondary school. As the society becomes increasingly competitive, the education system has to be constantly 'updated' in the sense they pushed some things we'd learnt in sec school to primary sch and similary JC syllabus to sec school's curriculum. In the sense, the education system becomes more difficult then it used to.

According to the article in forum, basically, the gist was this woman who wrote in said that she has a daughter in a all girls' primary school who had done badly or failed in her maths paper. She strongly believed that her daughter had studied extremely diligently for her papers. Hence, it was no doubt a setback for her. Anyway, the mother also brought up last year's PSLE maths paper whereby a lot of kids were under tremendous stress due to the brain cudgelling questions. Some kids even broke down halfway during the exams. Ok. Initially, i admit i was very bad and actually felt that kids these days can't take pressure and stress very well and things like that... Come to think of it, i mean they're like 12. They still have a long road to go. Can't possibly expect them to take things in their stride, take deep breaths, grit their teeth and continue with the exams with the words that their mums enforced in them flashing across their brains. Things like "you have to do well. If you do badly, go bad schools, no future" , "fail means die", "do badly means you're stupid", "cannot get good results, no school will want you". Images of their mums holding rattan canes or facing a bleak future haunting them, it's no surprise that the kids will break down.

My cousins had failed some subjects when one was in primary school and one still in primary school. I'm positive that i didn't fail any subject when i was in primary school. Because i'm smarter? That's very difficult to determine because the education standards have changed drammatically. I mean it's sad that teachers are failing their students at such a young age. Try to envision their feelings when they grow up. Instead of remembering those sweet bubble gummy days in their childhood, all they can think of is failing their exams badly and having the rattan cane leave its marks on their bodies. Failing them in primary school is like dropping them a subtle message that 'you are doom to fail for the rest of your life'. Kids need encouragement and support. They need to have confidence so that they can have high self esteem. Failure in exams is like a blockage in the development of their self confidence. I mean 50 plus marks in many parents' eyes is already considered an atrocious marks. Failing is like forcing the parents to hit the roofs or something.

I admire my aunty for not feeling the slightest shame in announcing her children's marks. You know some parents like to boast when their children score high marks and then go all the way out to conceal when their children score badly. Whenever people ask, she'll just tell the truth. She doesn't whack her children or scold degrading things or paint a dark sombre bleak picture. She just take it in her stride and tell her children to work harder. I admire because i'm not sure whether i'll be able to show such restraint like her. Scold my children until their heads are dripping with my saliva? i don't know...

If not, we have those over zealous parents who like to compare. My aunt fetches her son from school everyday. She's used to overhearing other parents boasting/comparing their children's grades at the carpark. I think it's more exciting than stocks exchange. My aunt doesn't hide her children's grades. She thinks there's no shame in telling people her child has failed a subject and stuff. I'd seen people expressing sympathy and tried to look oh-nicey and stuff. I think they were some who were genuinely concerned. Sometimes, my intuition told me they are hypocrites. Trying to act sympathetic but actually gloating inside. welcome to the harsh society!

So, if i were to write to the MP for education,it'll go like this...

Dear Sir,

I know you're very busy trying to revamp the education system so that we can keep on par with other countries, so,i'm not going to beat about the bush like trying to show my appreciation for the things that you do or had been done. Appreciation is not like a badge of honour meant to show off. I'm going to keep is short and sweet. I think teachers should try not to fail primary school students. Why? Of course, you can continue to tell teachers to fail their students since it's not going to do much damage in the short run. Who cares about the little kids crying to mummies about their results anyway? The kids are just kids. Plus, you can try telling the haggard-looking mummies to get more tuition teachers for their kids. Society is like this, period. Oh ya! And more cares about deflating the kids' ego. I mean since their ego can be deflated, i assume it can be easily inflated like balloons. Self confidence is like so rubbish. Like failing will affect their self confidence. Self confidence is built on many aspects not jus results. at the same time, tell the parents to stop adopting a microscopic view on their children;s grades.Analysing and comparing their children's grades are just freaky. It's like telling me only grades matter.

I'm trying to provide you with multiple views which i had learnt in GP in JC. My teacher had told me many times not to just consider one view. Must consider all the views possible.

I have another suggestion. Teachers can consider failing them but at the same time, teach them the correct attitude to take. this quote is very suitable "success isn't forever and failure isn;t fatal". isn't it so apt?

Thank you Mr Minister for taking the time off to read about my views.

learning to appreciate life

I'm unemployed once again. I've finally decided not to look for another job. Call me lazy, whatever. I don't care. I have plenty of opportunities to work once i've graduated. Must as well grab the chance to enjoy now. Honestly, it was not a easy decision to make since i was initially worried about the loss of income and stuff. No income=no shopping. I'm going to shop for all i want during the GSS period. After that, i'm going to lead a life of a pauper and tighten my budget. Eat homecooked food instead. Hee!

The tragic incidents which had happened in our neighbouring countries-cyclone in myanmmar and earthquake in China, once again reinforce the fact that i should appreciate and treasure life and what i have. Even though my relationship with my parents is far from exemplary since we hardly make the effort to understand each other, at least we don't glower and snap at each other like other dysfunctional family. Honestly, my parents give me a lot of freedom. They don't restrict the places that i go or impose curfews and stuff. I like to think it's because they have trust in me. Anyway, i'm a good girl which should be able to put their minds at ease. I don't do hanky panky and have my whole body decorated with hickeys. I don't go clubbing till the wee hours and come home inebriated and spew vomit everywhere like a water gun. I don't do drugs, smoke nor join gangs, coming home and bringing heart attacks to my parents by having a tattoo of a big red rose on my back or breaking my neck due to excessive shaking brought about by ecstacy. I don't put myself in a peril or allow myself to be compromised by having sex and end up like Juno (the movie) bringing both disgrace and sadness to my parents. After typing all these, i suddenly realise i'm a goody goody kid and i'm so proud of myself. If i were to have kids in future, i hope they'll emulate me.

Although my parents are lacking in some places, i'm thankful still for they provide me with the basic necessities and do not abuse me like that perverted dad who locked his daughter up in the basement and fathered 7 or 8 kids with her. Imagine having sex with your daughter. That's like so immoral and only someone with a depraved mind will do so. Totally gross and unethical. Back to the point, my parents respect and trust me thus giving me much freedom which i should be thankful of. We can't always get what we want plus it's not as though i'm a 100 marks daughter. I'm such a sarcastic daughter who's never hesitant to talk back to my mum especially causing her to sprout white hair. She has a farm of white hair on her head i think. I'm lazy and do not have much goals or aspirations. I'm just trudging around like a headless chicken. I don't share my whatsoever secrets or nitty gritty things with my parents. They are like not the first people to know what's happening to me.

But still, i'm a likeable daughter.

I was just telling Chan Mali yesterday that i hope nus doesn't send me a letter because i don't want to have to make an agonising choice. AND what a coincidence, yesterday afternoon, i received a humongous envelope from nus. I'm in a dilemma over how i should feel... Rejoice then sulk cause i need to make a difficult choice?

Help!!

can't accept some facts

I'm at a loss on how to accept some facts. Facts like your little sis is grown up and is going on dates, everything is happening too soon for you to grasp the situation, your mind is like a whirlpool, you can't accept the sweet innocent little girl who used to fight over sweets with you is proceeding to another stage or life. Or something like eternal love which i can't fathom nor bring myself to believe its existence. I don't know whether i like/loathe/can't be bothered with regards to my parents. Our relationship is, hmmm... i don't know how to describe. weird? My mum is like my walking ATM. The older i become, the gap between us seems to get even wider. My mum is busy with her work and even if she's free, she doesn't make the first step to know me. Likewise, i got disheartened and now don't initiate small talks with her or discuss things with her. As for my father, for goodness sake, we are like two strangers living in the same house, drinking from the same tap, breathing the same air but do not communicate. So, i do not know whether i should appreciate the freedom i have or detest my parents for their somewhat cavalier attitude? Maybe that's too harsh a word since they do ensure that i survive and didn't dump me at the streets so that i'm left to forage food on my own. Ok. They do care about the feeding me part and ensure that i'm clothed and have entertainment. They have completely missed the emotional part.

I don't understand teens these days. They are like living in a completely different world from what we had used to. They pledge eternal love like nobody's business. Like i had said earlier, it's not that i don't believe in eternal love entirely but i also believe in the love turns sour part and lovers may part bearing hatred for each other. Love is a complicated subject. Marriage can turn into divorce. The mushy things never fails to increase the acidity in my stomach. Plus my eyeballs will somehow loosen themselves in the sockets and roll upwards. I wish my sis all the best in her whatsoever with the whatever person but nevertheless, i'm still disgusted. Can't believe those things can be mouthed into words... AND, do you know kids nowadays like to play 'happy family'. A male friend of a girl can actually be her kor... I think it's a harmless game and it's alright. I reckon i had played such thing in primary school before. I ever heard a girl calling a classmate kor throughout the entire conversation. Maybe, that guy was really her bro but then she turned to her back and called her female classmate 'ah-ma' so i bet they were playing the 'happy family' game. Too much 'kor' reminds me of those sappy tear-jerking korean drama. Just that the characters i'd witnessed bear NO resemblance to the suave charming looking male lead or the bambi-eyed pretty female lead. So, it just made my stomach churned.

Maybe i shouldn't be over critical but it's difficult. A part of me wants to accept that my lil sis is all grown up but another conflicting part of me wants to act like a macho sister and hover over her to protect her. Those mushy lovey dovey things, just can't fully accept...

On the other hand, perhaps i was once like this as well?? haha!! So i shouldn't wrinkle my nose at it and just force myself to face up to reality that people change. Oh well...

im a great teacher!!

This guy should be gay because he's purple and i heard purple is like a gay colour... I have no idea why i had drew this. Must be some impulse kind of thing...

The incident below happened this morning...
Aunt: Green man is blinking. Do you think we can cross??
Me: don't think so
Aunt: Should be can la. Can cross or not?
Me: (shook my head and pressed the traffic light's button)
Aunt: Can cross la. Blink so long. Can cross?
Me: GO CROSS IF YOU WANT TO CROSS (roared)

There was this cyclist near us who heard my awful roar and stared at us. A few motorists near by also heard me bellowing and turned to look at me. It was embarrassing. Really!! I didn't mean to lose my temper but i honestly felt my aunt had asked me the same question too many times. It once again re-emphasises the fact that i don't like people to ask me the same question too many times cause it's bothering and irritating. I know some girls love to cling onto their freinds and bother them incessantly about their weight/figure/whether they think they're fat. I mean if they are fatter, i honestly think they themselves should know they bodies better than their friends. So why bother asking? I mean it's ok if they ask once or twice but three times is really pushing the limits, or rather MY limits. So if you want to ask me something, once or twice is fine, thrice, i'll go kaboom and explode in your face, leaving some of my brain matter behind as souvenir.

My cousin rocketed into the house this afternoon and proudly annouced that he passed his english and chinese exam papers. I painstakingly tutored him english and science and on occasion, help in maths even though i have an aversion for maths. Anyway, he failed his english CA1 paper and now he finally passed after i had spent many months puking out blood and scooping the blood up again to be transfused back to my body. My efforts had not gone down the drain. I'm glad.

Maybe i should consider being a tuition teacher. Scare the kids to half-death.

Anyway, i asked my cousin how did he feel about his achievements. He was damn pleased and never did he forget to mention the fact that i always throw his books.

Yes! I do throw his books when he agitates me. I never said i possess a good temper.

If he scores decently for science paper, that would mean i owe him a meal as a reward. But then, i'm ok with parting with the money because after that, i'll ask my aunt to treat me back for helping to coach her son. yay!!

Hate waiting

Cute right??

New blogskin... Woo Hoo!! I think this will be a temporary one until i find another one to my liking. I like spongebob but just don't like the layout. Anyway, i think the falling stars are cool...

We are now patiently waiting for letters of acceptance to fall blissfully on our doorsteps... I'm getting super jittery thinking about it... What if i don't get into the course and school i want... AH!!! This is extremely nerve-wrecking... My blood pressure is going to shoot up, burst an artery and blood is going to gush out from the artery which went *BABOOM*!

I think 'Concordia' is a cool name. Maybe i can consider naming my daughter 'Concordia' if i were to have a daughter in future. Why am i talking about this??

Anyway, i'm feeling restive... AH!!

Went to watch the forbidden kingdom starring Jackie chan and Jet li...

It was a stupid movie in my opinion. I watched mainly because the movie has two of my favourite actors-Jackie Chan and Jet li. first time both martial arts experts are collaborating. Not to be missed. The fighting scenes were beautifully choreographed. I'm a die hard fan of action packed movies... I never fail to watch Jackie chan's movies.. yay!!

However, the plot was just plain lame. Even Jackie chan himself had admitted it was a trashy movie but he decided to film anyway because Jet li was also starring in it... The first problem is why would Sun wu kong leave his staff to an angmoh who doesn't know kongfu and obviously can't speak chinese. OK OK it's a hollywood movie right?? So must have angmoh. And can you believe that people from ancient China can speak english?? even sun wu kong can speak english. Maybe those people who worship sun wu kong should erect a temple in an angmoh country or something...

I burst out laughing when the bai fa mo nu (white-haired ghostly looking lady) acted by Li bing bing scolded golden sparrow (another female character) 'orphan bitch'. i mean i can't fathom people in ancient China scolding each other 'bitch'... It's like totally cannot fit in right?

Anyway, for this movie, just watch with half of brains will do. Don't confuse too much with the facts you'd learnt in history lessons... Just imagine that scholars and deities in ancient china can speak english. Period... I watched for the fghting scenes. super duper cool!! Kept me sitting at the edge of my seat and my adrenaline hoolappitying...

They look damn cool when they fight together!! According to the newspaper report, they fought too fast for the cameraman to grasp their speed and film...
The silent Monk....

drunken scholar... My idol...

Gotta continue with my telemarketing... sian...

eulogy to my bestest companion

This is finally the end... My beloved bestest companion has left me... I'm writing an eulogy for it...

I'm getting abit emotional because this particular Nike Bottle has braved much hardship and obstacles with me. Even during those torturous gruelling PE lessons in TJC, Nike bottle had not forsaken me and was always stuck to me rain or shine. It provided me immediate solace whenever my throat became dry, my voice raspy, i was on the verge of collapsing due to dehydration/heat stroke. My Nike bottle would act as superman to save me by providing with water to pull through all sorts of difficulties. Whenever i was sick, my Nike bottle would be there to remind me to drink more water. And when i was studying, my Nike bottle would sit patiently on the study table and offerred me its mental support. Its patient companion spurred me to carry on studying no matter how boring or mind boggling things could be... When i get restive, i would simply drink from it and it would cheer me up by making squishy screechy sounds in a bid to make me laugh at the ridiculous sounds it had made.
I'm not deliberately trying to personify my bottle but it had really accompanied through thick and thin. I'm a sentimental person who doesn't bear to throw things away but i had no choice because Nike bottle had become decrepitated due to old age. The black plastic cover was peeling as though some rats had chewed on it and the body had become super cloudy like cataracts in old people. In order to shorten its agony in this world, i decided to send it off to a better place by giving it a proper burial at SIngapore's rubbish dumpsite...
I sincerely thank Nike bottle for sticking by me though thick and thin. I will always remember you... Farewell my friend...
sheesh... gotta buy another water bottle....

i wanna roar!!

I'm so hateful that my voice has decided to forsaken me. I tried chasing after it like a spurned lover but to no avail. I sound like a transvestite now... When's my beautiful voice coming back?

Yesterday, i was savouring the sweet cup of Meiji yoghurt when my lil cousin returned home and the moment he came in through the door, he fell flat onto the ground. It was super funny cause it happened in slow motion. However, i was too shocked to laugh. It was unfathomable how he could have fell... His embarrassment quickly turned into anger and he chided me for eating yoghurt without asking my mum for permission. (my mum was the one who bought the youghurt) he said that my mum had warned us not to eat her yoghurt but then... i never listen to my mum anyway... hehe!!

I always have weird weird dreams when i'm sick. The day before yesterday, i dreamt that i went shopping with a green basket like the ones you see at supermarkets. The problem was i wasn't shopping at supermarkets. I dreamt that i was toodling around with the green basket at Toy's'rus... Dots... I remember i had grabbed some stuff off the shelves and threw them in the hideously green basket. When it was time to pay, i u-turned and placed all the items in the basket back to the place i had previously took them from... 0.0

Fortunately, it was just a dream... I mean... I would have gone to see a shrink if i'd done that in real life... haha!!

I wish my voice will come back because my job is dependent on my beautiful voice...

I so deserve to die...

When 5 strepsils did not do their job, i knew i was in serious trouble. My throat hurts like hell like somebody used a scalpel to scrape the lining of my throat. Swallowing becomes a painful ordeal and somehow, the temperature seemed to miraculously dipped to 16 degree celsius. My head throbbed like hell, my whole body ached like how the bones of old ladies suffer when it's raining. I covered myself from neck to toes with a blankie and yet was still shivering rock and roll... My eyes were puffy and my face was pale that even the mirror complaint... That's when i knew, i was sick...

Oh shucks!! I hate being sick. Spent one miserable day, huddled under my miserable crumpled blanket, shivering miserably and not to forget, feeling miserable for myself. Thankfully, my throat doesn't hurt that much anymore. It hurt so much that i couldn't sleep at night. Now, my nose is all clogged up, my body still aching, i seemed to have heard few coughs here and there BUT, at least my throat doesn't hurt that badly anymore. I can't do my job-telemarketing cause still sound like a choked up toilet bowl with a faulty flushing system.

AND, i so deserve to die because i forgot yesterday was Audrey's birthday!!! AH!!! I'm not fit to be Audrey's friend... I'm such a loser. I'm a miserable BOOBOO!! Please, anyone, banish me to some horrendous place named "i'm-not-fit-to-be-anyone's-friend" . I'm going to beg for Audrey's forgiveness... Audrey, please forgive me... *Tears and mucus start welling in my eyes and nostrils respectively*

what's wrong with ITE?!

There was this gathering for relatives and as usual, conversations that revolve around studies popped up. I dont understand... can;t they just give us a break? I mean can't they ask other stuff like what are you doing now? Are you doing anything enjoyable? Frenzy paper chase whatsoever.

I have this cousin who's going to ITE. I see no wrong with ITE. I don't understand why people have to make studying in ITE sounds like the end of the world? I admit i used to have a jaundiced view of ITE but that view has changed. ITE has its own qualities too and i don;t know why people have to demean students who are studying there.

From my relatives' tone, i could sense they were kind of scornful of my cousin who's going to ITE. They disguised their comments in a 'diplomatic' way as not to sound too demeaning and stuff but anyway, it still sounded sarcastic and insensitive to me. They were giving advice to my cousin not to mix around with those gangs and blah blah blah... I couldn't stand it and burst out saying something like "Go ITE also not bad ma... why have to make it sound like he's (my cousin) going to a point of no return." AND THEN, the situation was reversed and i was targetted by my older cousin who said "so what do you intend to study? Aiyah! People like you definitely will want to go university... JC student ma... " His comment was dripping with sarcasm. Like i'm dying to go to university. Like i can't survive if i don't go to university. Fortunately, i'm sarcastic myself and i said "oh... not exactly la... I intend to look for a rich boyfriend, hurry up get married and be a tai tai. " together with a i-don't-give-you-a-damn look.

Somebody gently pulled me aside and chided me for being disrespectful because i sounded rude and whatever shit. I mean people who know me should know i don;t give much damn about academics. Character development is more important to me. such gathering like this is like Singapore Fashion Festival but instead of showcasing clothes, those people like to fluff their feathers and show off their children's academic results. Fortunately, my close/immediate family doesn;t pressurise me to do that. i'm given room to do whatever i like. *thank god* Those people have eyes on the top of their heads. I hope they won't crash into the lamp-post someday...

No matter what, even if we tried to talk about other stuff, those peacocks (because they are as proud as peacocks) will still walk the conversation back to the ITE topic. They are like dwelling on it too much up to a point whereby they are using my cousin as a comparison to their children to feed their gargantuan egos.

Thankfully, i don;t see them often. Throughout, i was like sitting on a bed of needles and feeling constipated. *rolls my eyes*

slacking

Last Saturday, qijiemeis met at Vivo to celebrate Jieying's birthday... Darling and me so lovey dovey... The rabbit with a red heart is actually hopping after another rabbit in front of him... So sweet... aww...
We went to Toy's'rus. Meet my friends, from left, big bird, elmo and spongebob.

Barney who brought me joyful memories of my childhood

Minnie and Mickey
It's lunchtime and i'm slacking. I can't stand telemarketing but i just have to grit my teeth and continue doing. My mum said i'm not polite enough when i'm talking to customer. Instead of asking "may i know what's your name?" I was too straightforward and simply shot off 'what's your name". erm... but the tone of my voice was at least polite to me... I mean, it just a slip of my tongue what... It's a waste of my breath to say "may i know"... so duh~ but ... hai~ ok. i shall endeavour my best to be polite. *rolls my eyes*
The In thing to talk about is rising price of rice. It rhymes leh... My aunt makes sure we finish all the rice on our plates. Can't even leave a grain of rice behind. The rising price of the rice has dashed all my dreams of having five kids in future. I won't have enough money to buy rice to feed my kids. So, i have to be realistic and not have too many kids. (hope that the price will not increase any further)
I like this ...
Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.
~source unknown~
Anyway, nothing lasts forever, not even troubles so jiayou everyone!!
I'm going to buck up on my telemarketing skills...

First day working at home

I've gotten a new job. I'm working as a telemarketer. Recommended by my darling. Telemarketing is a super dry dry dry and boring boring boring job. I don't like telemarketing but the good thing is that i can work in the comforts of my home. I sound so anti-social sia... Cooped up at home. And, the job only lasts for one month and shouldn;t be much of a problem... i'm currently slacking now since i'm obviously blogging. My self imposed lunch time. Hey!! People need to rest one leh... The people i'm calling wouldn;t like to be disturbed during the well-deserved lunchtime after slogging for hours in the chilly office. Imagine them trying to talk to me with fishball in the mouth or curry rice splattering out of the mouth. The former is dangerous as fshball can block the windpipe, resulting in a symptom known as choking. The latter is disgusting and i pity his colleagues sitting near him. So, i'm being considerate.

Some people i'd called were nice and patient. Some were quite rude. But who cares... Got one super funny guy. He kept laughing at himself. Not me. I was serious. He laughed and i laughed and we laughed over the phone. Very cuckoo hor? I laughed because he laughed and not because he said something funny.

HAI~ anyway, i'm sick of the job and it's only my first day... just bear for another one month. Alternatively, i can finish up calling all the people and slack after that. hai~

muddled fuddled

I'm getting all muddled fuddled...

Applying for uni is such a pain in my ass... This time round, i have be bloody stringent about choosing the CORRECT course. School fees won't be 30 plus dollars per term. Not like the schools i had previously attended and graduated. NO heavy subsidies from MOE. I cannot study halfway and change to another course like how a casanova changes girlfriends. No we talking about school fees in terms of 3 zeros per sem. Few Ks... oh gosh... Moreover, i'll be spending 3 years of more in that course. If i happen to hate/loathe the course after entering it, it'll be 'god bless me'...

I'm stuck in a dilemma. I think i should be more inclined towards science related courses but after more in depth reflections, after 10 years of slogging my lungs and heart out for science, do i actually like science? I did fantasise entering life sciences but two years of JC's bio held me and pulled me mercilessly back to reality. Did i enjoy bio? Maybe yes maybe no but a nagging feeling told me the degree in which 'i enjoy bio' triumps over 'i hate bio' is perhaps a milli fraction. This is an extremely vulnerable situation as it can be easily reversed. What if after taking life sciences, i start to discover that my interest doesn't really lies in science and i'm better off somewhere. I can imagine the monster named 'regret' creeping into my heart and pilfer off what's left of a little interest i have for science. That will then be the day-my heart had died for science....
*starts playing some tragic Mozart's music in the background*

My results kind of indicate that i'm more suited for arts. However, a part of me is intrigued by the idea of taking arts but on the other hand i'm afraid i can't cope. It'll be somewhat like entering a new realm and people tend to be nervous when thrown in a strange place that they hadn't set foot on before. What if i enter this new realm and find myself treading on thin ice. what if the fragile ice can't support me any longer and starts breaking? i'll find myself in another position. That's when my heart dies for arts and i shall arrange to be buried somewhere serence in the arts faculty.

So, either way i may be dying. That's why being normal,non-psychotic person that harbours no morbid thoughts of terminating my life sooner, I'm afraid of death. Hence, i'm agonising over which faculty and course to take. The more i ponder about it, the more painful my ass becomes. Such a pain in my ass-i repeat.

All the above sounds so serious and non entertaining... I need advice. haha! Abit like writing compo hor?

Went to Marina Square with Chan Mali yesterday. We had pizzas at pizzahut for lunch. We were elated at first cause we thought we could use our bluish ez link cards and proudly declare ourselves as students. BUT BUT BUT, according to the person who served us,the bluish ez link card with my horrible picture on it would not be recognised yesterday. Let me make myself clearer. There wasn't any student meals promotion yesterday because it was the eve of public holiday. OK!! Chinese New year eve,New year eve,Christmas eve i've heard. But, i've never heard of such thing as Good Friday's eve. It's not as though schools have half day or something. Imagine National Day's eve. Whatever lor... So we paid the full adult price. Whatever.

Anyway, we caught rule #1 (horror show). I love horror show and i always laugh at the wrong parts. People were spooked while i was there laughing. Chan Mali doesn't seem to fathom the reasons why i laughed at the wrong parts. I just find it funny. Well... who cares. Not everyone's brains are wired the same way. We don't think along the same path but that's ok.

Back from Japan

I'm back!!

Normally when i'm overseas, i'll tend to miss Singapore and feel that the country i'm in pales in comparison to the place i'm born. I'll feel homesick and miss my birthplace tremendously. When it's time to go back home to the lion city, i'll be elated. However, this time round, those feelings do not apply. I like Japan. Haha!!

People there are courteous. Drivers seldom sound their horns on the road. Taxis are able to drop and pick passengers anywhere and other drivers are able to compromise. Unlike the CBD area that allows taxis to pick/drop passengers only at designated areas which are pathetically insufficient. I think the authority has relaxed the rules... Japan is clean and the people there are very mindful of sorting their rubbish into plastic bottles, papers, metal cans and others (which means can throw all sorts of rubbish like food and whatsoever). Even though dustbins are a scarce resource in Japan, the people still managed to keep a civic mindedness and not throw litter. The country in clean because the people play a part in keeping the streets clean by being mindful not to litter. I know this is going to sting but in singapore, our streets are clean because we have a large resource of blanglas to clear the eyesore.

Plus, the ice cream in Japan is awesome!! I've discovered that cold countries produce nice ice cream. The pastries there are fluffly soft like cotton but not overly sweet. That's why a lot of tourists spend large amounts of money purchasing japanese goodies/sweets/pastries home. I think i'll gain a whooping 10 kgs of i stay in Japan for long term...

According to our tour guide, he said that Japan has a lot of freedom. Take for example, the students in Japan are able to dress up in whatsoever way without landing themselves in discipline lectures. The schools allow students to dye their hair, have funny weird hairstyles and slap on make up to qualify for wayang. some schools even allow students to wear home clothes... Anyway, i don't mind wearing uniforms in Japan cause the uniforms there are so cool. The flipside is that there are guys who do not resemble guys because of their long shaggy hair styles and fringe that practically obscured their eyes which left me wondering how they managed to walk about on the road safely without bumping intoanything. Perhaps, they sniff their way around like dogs do? Girls tend to perm their hair afro or sweet looking styles... The fashion there in Japan is Cool as well. (i always use the word cool) haha!

The hotels provide yugatas for us to wear to bed or to hot springs. i think i look weird in it...

My first night in Japan....

Large and comfy

The splendid view outside my hotel room the next morning. There's SNOW on the ground! Splendid!

We bought strawberries back home. Juicy sweet mouthwatering strawberries. I'm craving for them...

The tidbits we'd bought...

According to the latest news report, the quantity of tidbits is diminishing due to the presence of a gluttony greedy sweet-toothed human named Hazel.
i don't mind marrying a japanese. Haha!!

New-found Talent

I'm here to announce to the whole wide world (like anyone cares but i'm still announcing...) that...
Chiang! Chiang! Chiang!
Drumrolls....
Thunder!!
I've found a talent!
My new found talent!
Praise myself...
My talent...
scrolls down...
Yes, i can bend my last finger like this....Perpendicularly...

Gross right? I wonder whether i can make money with such a special pinky... Haha!!

Anyway, it's confirmed that results will be out this Friday but no sweats cause i've already placed my order for a coffin and rosey flower wreath for myself... Anyone who wants to send me flower wreaths or their condolences and do so... Just sms me and i'll rise from my coffin to text you back my address...

Good Luck People! I know i'm morbid...

I Love L

I managed to catch Death Note spin Off : L Changes the World on Monday!! Since i had two free movie tix, i invited chan Mali to join me. The show was Cool man... It has successfully ignited my love for L. Haha!! He's funny and weird in the show... My new love on the right...

Cool right?
Come to think of it... I guess i'm attracted to weird people. I like weird characters like Spongebob,Jack Sparrow and the lastest being L. They are all eccentric, quirky, weird fellows... Does that mean i'm weird? Oh gosh... anyway, who cares...
My family said it's ok even if i don't go university or find a course that interests me... I'd flipped through some of the courses in NTU's brochures and i have found nothing that perks me up and burns my passion to want to study it...
What's the point of spending a colassal amount of time, money and energy studying something that i don't even have an interest in in the first place and later come to hate it? Of course not forgetting the possibility that i may like it as time passes on....
Hopefully, i'll get good enough grades to pursue a course that i have at least some interest in it...

Nua-ing

I feel so bad to say this but i'm jobless and slacking at home in bliss... haha!! I'm not going to get a job till end of next month since i'll be going off on a holiday around the 5th of March if everything goes smoothly. My parents are treating me and obviously, me, being the ever filial child, won't reject my parents' offer. We intended to go to Japan. Hopefully, the travel agency is able to reach the quota which is pretty difficult i think since it's not school holidays. If it's not successful, i think i moan and cry and barf all my guts and heart out until the travel agency has no choice but to plan one specially for my family. Imagine only the four of us on the tour bus... hehe!

So, i have nothing much to do except to grow fat at home...

XXexpress is a damn bugger. Called me many times yesterday asking whether i'm keen to work. I already told her colleague last friday that i'll be going off for a holiday next month. Apparently, her colleague didn't tell her. She asked me how long my trip's going to be and when i'll be back. I bet she's going to call me when i'm back. Or perhaps, call me before i leave to find a job for me so that i can work straight after im back... I think i'm going to give a ridiculous excuse like "i'm pregnant. BUT, i'm still keen in looking for a job. why not call me in 9 months' time" That will be totally classic man!

It was great meeting up with qijiemeis for dinner last night. I miss my friends...*sniff sniff*

I don't like potato-heads... ... It's so potato-ishly irritating harping on past events that is so potato-ishly not my problem but why am i potato-ishly irritated by it... Don't understand. Life's an irony anymore. Live like a moron and you'll enjoy 'ignorant bliss'.

29th will be the day that i die...

I'm jobless again...

It's not as though i got sacked or anything... i'm a die-for employee. I'm responsible, initiative, adaptable, willing to learn, focused, humourous, cheerful person... sorry...i'm like promoting myself. But that's what we're supposed to do during interviews... promote ourselves... so superficial but it has to be done. The trick is to whack all your attributes or rather the attributes that you think you possess, as long as they are great things, whack without batting your eyelids...

I heard that a levels results will be released on 29th of Feb.... That day will mark the end of hazel's life. I don't want to get back. Can't i just live in ignorance? Completely unaware of my results. Ignorance is bliss right? hai~

Anyway, back to the topic which involves... what ah? oh ya! i'm jobless... i tried looking for a job. My mum wants me to work in the same company as her under customer service. I know customer service is a horrible job but according to my mum, she thinks i'm sarcastic enough to handle the stress of the job... *rolls my eyes* Anyway, so we happily trotted down to the HQ human resource department for an interview. (ok! i wasn't that happy ) Few hours later, the person in charge called and told me to work at Great world city. Said they are in need of people in accounting department. I politely declined because i wasn't keen to travel so damn far.... It's super inconvenient. Had to change a lot of buses and stuff... Gave me the excuse that people related can't work together. It's not as though i'll be working as a permanent staff... It's only temporary... Forget... quite pissed la... it'll be their loss anyway. I'm such a wondeful employee as mentioned earlier... hee!

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. customer service sucks. You get criticised, sweared, scolded, ranted, spewed for nothing. It's not your fault that the goods customers bought crashed on them. Not as though you pray zealously everyday for the goods to spoilt. Customer service is like the second worse job after cleaning... My mum even mentioned to me that everyone in customer svc has at least shed tears once... Imagine me having to bring a box of tissue. NO! a roll of toilet paper to add onto the dramatic effect to work everyday. and unroll a wad of toilet papers and cry on them while apologising fervently to the customers. can imagine? haha!

It;s such a tough job yet my mum recommended me to it. In this case, it means i'm really sarcastic. Am i really that sarcastic? Oh gosh... even my mum thinks i'm sarcastic enough to handle moronic/unreasonable/anal customers. Or worse still, handle sarcastic customers. In another words, i'm more than just sarcastic. Not mediocre sarcastic but belong to the sarcastic elite. Oh gosh... I'm sarcastic?

interviews are scary

I went for interviews today... since the festive period is going to be over and NOEL won't need so many part time workers, i guess i'm going to be jobless soon which means i need those interviews in order to look for another job...

First interview was 10am at JAC which is located at Tanjong Pagar. Mingyan and i got lost... BUT, we managed to sniff our way there.

We were first separated and ushered into different rooms. Honestly, the names of the rooms were ridiculous la... Mingyan's room was called "st andrew's" It's ridiculous to me in the sense that imagine you're working there and you want to meet a client in the room... you'll tell the client "Ok! i shall meet you at St andrew's. You go there and have a seat first." The client will definitely looked mootoofoodoo at you and don't understand wth is going on right... Why can't they just simplify things and call the rooms room 2 or 3? Anyway, i got bored in the room and decided to draw up the curtains to have a better view. However, the sun was too glaring and i drew the curtains down again in case the sunray is too piercing to the interviewer. How considerate...

Less than 10 minutes later, i was ushered into St andrew's (i can't remember the name of my room) to be interviewed together with Mingyan. we had two interviewers who looked immaculately dressed and groomed. I bet the male interviewer plucked his eyebrows... it's none of my concern but then ya... it was my first time being formally interviewed for a job so naturally, i could feel the stress... In my opinion, i did pretty ok for the first time except that i was crossing my legs and uncrossing them again and again cause i was nervous ma... and i hit the CPU located in front of me... The interviewers mentioned to us that we had to take note of our postures and body languages and be more prepared in future. Otherwise, we were ok and appeared sincere. Like duh~ Who won't appear sincere when they are in need of a job...

after that, we took mrt to the west--jurong east for another interview by recruitexpress. The interviewer asked whether we're keen to work in the west. definitely no no la! so damn far away... waste of time and travel expenses...

i'm alive

I got sucked into the lengendary Bermuda's Triangle and i swam all the way back...

Ok la! i admit la... i was just too lazy to blog... opps!

I think nobody cares much about cny now... I brought oranges for visiting but i never once exchanged mine with others.. My precious oranges were sitting comfortably in my bag for three days...

honestly, i find the idea of exchanging oranges abit stupid. I added the word 'abit' just to be courteous... anyway, no matter how many times you exchange, those spherical orange things will remain as mandarin oranges... so what's the point of exchanging...

my cousin and i wore black pants, dark coloured clothes but weren't berated by relatives... this is because their own children were wearing dark coloured clothes as well... hahaha!

i find visiting more tiring than working... this is because everywhere i went to, there bound to be car accidents... i saw many... two accidents which involved 8 cars kissing each other, one at scotts rd whereby a Lambourghini (not sure whether spelled correctly) got smashed into useless metal and another which involved 5 cars crashing together, another one at serangoon rd involving a bmw and Jaguar colliding with each other... imagine how many angbows that are needed to fix the cars... oh gosh.... those car accidents led to massive traffic jams and you know how frustrating that can get...

my job at Noel is going to end on Valentine's day... sad right? no date, no candlelit dinner, no outings, no programmes, no job... thursday is so going to be a black thursday.... wahahaha!
